The Big Day - Neversoft Digitisation

I've had a brilliant day! We woke up at 6:30am to prepare ourselves for the trip to Neversoft, my sister re-created my rock star look in the video with the make-up and eyeliner.

Upon arrival at the Neversoft studios we were greeted by Joel Jewett (Head of Neversoft) and his Dog. He explained what the day would consist of and I was very excited!

We then met Alan Flores (Lead Designer) who took us on the tour along with Matthew Jackowski (Associate Producer).

To do the digitisation process I had photos taken in all angles, I then got changed into the outfit I wore in the video which was also photographed.

Next we entered the room where the character rendering is done, right from the concept art to the 3d modelling.

We then entered the large motion capture room, where they explained how everything was done and I saw videos of Aerosmith's Steven Tyler performing in the capture suit.

I discovered it takes 25,000 frames to animate a character for one song!

I was then shown props then that were used at E3 and the half pipe used for motion capturing all the Tony Hawk's games which I photographed.

We entered the actual sound room where Slash and Tom Morello peformed! And met the sound programmer.

We ended the tour by seeing guitars signed by the stars of the games (we photographed the one Slash signed)

And took photos of my Mum, sister and myself and got my GH3 game signed by the makers.

Overall it was a fantastic experience!

In the evening Thanks to the extremely helpful staff at the MAC store, I actually met one of the guys I work with in the UK, he happened to be on holiday here with his Girlfriend while I won this competition. We went out to dinner with them for our final night in the USA.
